Lack of critical respect for “ 300” and other science fiction means nothing to fans. They made peace with their own dorkiness long ago.

Hey! Come on - be nice. Not all SF fans fit to the 'type' in your head. Besides, Geeks, Dorks, Nerds, Pointy-Heads, Boffins... They're enthusiasts focused on their cause same as you.
